[ lunch by the riverside is pleasant, though haru would prefer to be in the water rather than eating, so he's already in the water, half-submerged and just soaking in the cool water calmly. ]

[ strange. it's a human eye. he gazes into it, marking down a few notes on its frequency and level. he doesn't turn around, but he can feel the presence forming behind him. ]

[ the lanterns are beautiful, soft light and warmth diffusing into the night air. ned watches them in wonder, for once not feeling awkward in his height as everyone else watches too.

though distracted, he manages to pull his attention away long enough to smile down at kobato. ]

This is nice.

[ there's no piano in the lab, of course, because it would be covered within days (or less than a day, if he's being realistic) with kaiju slime regardless of which side of the lab it was on.

but he can listen to piano music if he wants, while he works, and as fatigue makes him lean back in his chair and close his eyes, his hands absently tap phantom keys over the real keys of his keyboard. it's just a breather from... everything, sinking into nostalgia (though he wouldn't call it that) and muscle memory.

newton's probably around, but it's his turn to play music, so it's not like he can say anything about it. ]

[ he turns around, not too quickly, and smiles. ]

[noiz has his hands shoved in his pockets, head tilted to the side ever-so-slightly to emit a i really don't give a fuck attitude. hé míng's joke is barely noted, if at all, and the only response that he'll get from noiz is a dissatisfied:]

[his next move is to wander towards the computers to check them out, one hand absentmindedly brushing over one of the keyboards. they seemed to be in good shape, but he really can't tell until he's logged in. supposedly, the product is top-notch, and they need to be because of the jobs, but noiz can't trust what anyone has said about a computer until he's touched it.]

[manaka doesn't usually stray too far from the sea, and luckily, the river isn't too far. she's been curious about it after hearing a few of her classmates murmuring about how beautiful it is when the sun sets.

when she makes her way there, she realizes she isn't alone.]

Kopschi is part of the scientific name of a subspecies of Japanese deer. That's my assigned name because my dad used to say I looked like a baby deer! Mm, I'm a Virgo, and I like taking long walks on the beach and my ideal first date is lunch in a French bistro. What about you?

it's an exercise, they're told, something that'll allow them to work better together. though they're a bit cagey about what exactly it entails, and why they need to bear being stuck with needles that supposedly link them to whatever is necessary for this. the only reason she consented was that it wasn't supposed to be permanent and the marks wouldn't show for later.

I go by Angel because the primary essential value relating to my connection is 4N631, which reads as Angel in some circles. I never put much stock in horoscopes, and as for first dates I'd probably say food at somewhere quiet, nonpretentious, would be best.
