[ He tried, and the laugh is enough to get Zuko to smile back before they go to the drinks table. From the choices he finds a punch that doesn't smell too terrible. ]

[ a part of her does not trust the punch. it's less that she thinks something sketchy is in it and more that she would not be surprised if one of toph's friends decided to do a ~fun joke~ and put hot sauce in it

[ puppy bounds in like a little terror, all energy and sheer cloth bouncing around he ming. ]

I want milk! Sweet milk if you have it? Do I look cute?

[ After shutting the door he moves to the fridge to take a peek through it. ]

Mm, strawberry milk? It's that or sports drink.

[ Haven is one of the few places on Earth that Rook finds himself gravitating towards when he finds himself not wanting to be alone but not really wanting company. Usually, he would try for museums, libraries in big cities, but sometimes-- sometimes you needed a club that accepted all kinds and asked no questions. Places where his eyes flaring gold-bright with the pulses of lust and want, aren't questioned or looked at beyond an appreciative glance.

Places where Rook could drape along bar tops or in booth seating in his usual absurd attire and not worry about being mistaken for a stripper.

Well, no, he was still mistaken for that but it was easier to deal with in Haven.

There was a thrum in his bones, an itch under his skin, that made him feel restless and on edge with no real understanding as to why. This is why the demon has made his way to the familiar place, has him making his way to the bar before draping himself in a chair to rest against the bar top, eyes turned to the bartender pleadingly. (Pouting, Rook is flat out pouting at this point and he will deny it if you call him on it but that is one hundred percent what he is doing.)

He isn't here for a drink, he honestly just wants attention. ]

[ Even Thursday nights at this club are busy, to say nothing of Fridays after work. He Ming is shuttling back and forth at the bar, dispensing drinks and flirtatious statements until a minor lull lets him come to a stop in front of a new customer. ]

Oh, hello. [ Wow, an outfit. He Ming trains his eyes on the stranger's face. ] I'm on duty for a while yet, yeah. Do you need something? A drink? ...something else?
