[ He's not an alumnus of the school, he's still young, and he's been told many times that for those reasons and others he's lucky to have this teaching post. They're... well, they're probably right. Heine doesn't have a long enough record to get hired at many other places.
And he wants to work here. It's just that he knows methods that work, and not many others. So if he's too tough on his students, he can't help it. He doesn't know how else to teach.
At least his students are definitely learning. They can Transfigure any non-organics now, and they're only a month into the school year. But Heine wants them to move onto organic-to-organic Transfiguration now. He doesn't want to wait for some other professor to come and give him the go-ahead or... whatever. They're wasting time they could spend learning more advanced topics.
So forgive him, Eames, if he looks unhappy when they meet in his office. It's also close to his normal expression, so it isn't that bad. Really. ]
