[ mon has read enough books and seen enough movies that he has an idea what would happen in one of those. in 'real life' here on earth he's not sure, but risking being discovered and detained/imprisoned/boxed up for what he is or isn't, is at least some possibility. it's not one he wants to experience. and even if he could overpower any number of humans, he'd never let himself hurt them. best to avoid it at all costs.
he blinks, a bit dazed. sometimes, after a year of being here even, mon doesn't feel real. but it's hard to explain so mostly he just buries that weird floating detached feeling underneath everything else. being with noiz helps, just talking or sharing food or the like. sometimes when mon brings him something he thinks he's starting to be able to read his expressions better, like...like they're actually friends or something. ]
