[ it isn't as if violence bothers him. the fight was more cathartic than dangerous, and he only stumbles slightly as he gets up from the body of the now-unconscious guy on the ground. his hand aches, and his nose is probably broken, but he won, and the other boy is in a worse state than he is, anyway.

he spits blood onto the sidewalk. always looking on the bright side, that's him.

there's people passing by; it's not late enough for the streets to be deserted. once he looks more or less presentable in the dim light (jacket zipped up to hide the red on his shirt), he leaves the alleyway behind. ]

[ the edges of the world swirl around them, beings lost in a place that is simultaneously void and full of matter. sitting cross-legged on the ground, shijima brings her wrist to her mouth quietly. ]

I'd like to leave. [ she speaks mostly into her long sleeves, but her voice is clear and high. ]

Have you seen the moon, tonight? [ hades smiles and tilts his head upwards. ] While it shines, light reaches the ground below.

[ his brother has always been the better child, the one who is stronger and faster and the one meant to rule. but giovanni knows his strengths, and his brother's weaknesses.

so his smile is perfect, something out of the glossy pages of magazines, as he greets hirato in the office. ]

I've heard so many good things about you. [ folds his hands in his lap, gazing through the lenses of his impenetrable sunglasses. ]

[ he's a cheery creature, this man with his distinctive sunglasses, but people who are perfectly happy and well-adjusted don't generally tend to seek him out under these conditions. in spite of his natural curiosity, however, hirato is good at holding himself back.

he mirrors that smile with one so sugary sweet it could possibly cause cavities. ]

I'm glad to hear that. [ he leans in somewhat, a hand settling on the desk. ]

[ he had woken up shortly after his opponent had left him in behind in the alleyway — possibly to decompose, possibly to reap what he'd sowed — clutching his abdomen tightly to ward off a severe ache. the moment his fist curls, he's able to see his tattoos on his hands move too, visible like veins on the palest skin.

but his head wasn't in it, he supposes. not from the start. he had brought the fight onto himself, and it was only practical he'd get hurt. at the very least, he now realizes that it's impossible for himself to harm humans — not that he'd ever want to, anyway. he wouldn't try again.

he forces his body to get up from his spot on the ground, and he stumbles out from the alleyway. he's not certain, but he's got the faintest hope that he'll be able to find heine again if he tried. don't start things you can't finish, he thinks to himself. don't break things you can't mend. ]

[So your poor soul is walking down the street, and then this gets all in their face. What now?!]

[ he doesn't move away or towards hirato, but he smiles a little wider, just for good measure. ]

I have a picture of my target, here. [ a snapshot of heine, clearly taken at a time when his brother was not aware of the camera. ] And he doesn't live very far from here. Is that enough?

[ hirato gives the picture a brief once-over. there's not really any indication regarding what he thinks about this job, but. ]

I don't suppose you have a general idea of what his daily routine is like? [ it's easier if he can consider all the options. ] If he has any, that is.

[ he sniffs, rubbing a finger under his nose to stem the leaking blood. it'll stop soon, he assumes, and anyway, he didn't like this shirt very much.

distracted by his injuries, and unhurried by habit, heine walks slowly. he's not hard to catch up to.

at the side of a particularly unsavory looking building, he stops to run his fingers down either side of his nose. well, at least it's not broken. ]

Ah, well, there's a slight difficulty in that his occupation is... irregular. And if he's going outside, he's likely armed.

But there are a few places he goes with any regularity.

[For...what? Still, better to try to get rid of them, so she does take out some quarters. Except they're moving around so much one of her quarters actually drops down one of their shirts. Now that one is moving like an electrocuted squid.]

That didn't go as planned, but maybe it's a perfect distraction.
