[ personal space isn't particularly important to him. he doesn't respect it with other people, most of the time. but he doesn't look up when clear leans over.

but he does look up when clear points at the lines of new code once he finishes another line. ]

...instructs the distributor to send another response when the loop ends.

[ he scratches the back of his head idly, turning his head slightly to eye clear. ] What are you doing here?

[ now he thinks to ask. ]

[He looks caught when asked that, almost guilty. But he won't lie.]

...I just wanted to spend time with a friend. But you were busy, so I didn't think it was a good idea to ask you if you wanted to do anything else.

[That's what you do with friends. You find them and you hang out with them even if they're Noiz. Whatever hanging out means to them, even if that's just reading code over their shoulder.

Yeah, you're his friend, Noiz. You can't stop that fact.]

[ but he can try! just not right now. instead, he focuses on something else. ]

Don't you have better things to do?

[ despite those words, he doesn't really sound bothered.

...this guy is really bad at doing things like "hanging out". ]

[ noiz shrugs, like an admission of fair enough, before he turns back to his screens. after a few minutes he speaks up again, while fiddling with a fancy virtual dial projected by his allmate. or something. dmmd technology is weird. ]

You know how to write code?

Not really...I can understand a lot of it, though I couldn't tell you how. It's like reading English for some people!

[Clear is almost annoyingly chipper.]

[ noiz pauses in his scrolling, before picking up another rabbit cube and tossing it at clear. it turns on as it flies through the air, beeping and brightly and throwing up another screen of green text. ]

You can go over that, if it's like reading English for you.

[He catches it in his hands, and it makes him happy to be given this task to do. Finally, Noiz is warming to him, he thinks! Certainly it's a step towards becoming good friends and having the feeling be mutual.

Clear falls quiet as he reviews the code in front of him, reading it like someone else would a novel. Perhaps, here and here, this could be made more streamlined, and here, that had to be a mistake...

Hmm. He reaches out, highlights what he noticed, keeps scrolling. No point in trying to mess with it and then potentially crashing the whole program. He couldn't fix it, at least not consciously.]

[ he's paying more attention to his own screen, but once clear touches the screen usagimodoki lets out another "p!" and tells him what section of code is being highlighted.

— yeah, that's a mistake. he'll go back to it later. he just grunts and goes back to scrolling through his own screens, though, switching from his finished script to an array of surveillance screens. ...creepy. ]

why is this being asked you have to endure it either way.]

[ fuck his life. he sort of gives clear a look out of the corner of his eye, but keeps scrolling, flipping through screens. there's videos of nearly every part of midorijima, even secluded alleys and inside various buildings. people wander in and out of the frames, though noiz doesn't single out any of them as he goes through. ]

[ it doesn't really seem like it, but... who knows. ]

[It's not so simple as he enjoys spying on people, as perhaps Noiz does, but it's connecting with Noiz, and Clear's never gotten to see the inside of so many places at once before.]

[ he grunts, articulately, and keeps scrolling, slowing down occasionally when he sees something interesting. there's a lot of camera feeds, and a few of them seem to be catching some crime or action! noiz only hovers over them for a fraction of a second longer than he does on the other ones. ]
