[ right. he should've bandaged his hand earlier, but there was no time, and the sting combined with adrenaline still feels kind of good. that'll change within the hour, probably. he glances at the torn skin and shrugs. ]

No. I will be.

[ he's trying to force his hands to stop trembling, so he tries to distract himself by turning attention back to her. ] What, did you get kicked out?

[allures]

[she's unfazed by his question and a small smirk shows itself on her features, eyes glancing down.]

No.

[she looks back towards the door once again, a brow twitching upwards.]

Might have, if I stayed any longer. Stole the fire extinguisher and used it.

[shooteverything]

[ ...at least she's creative. he doesn't laugh, but his eyebrows raise and his mouth twitches into something like a smile before immediately going back to blankness. ]

I know a guy who'd probably like you.

[allures]

[that's not the first time she's heard that. all guys liked her. all guys loved her.]

Oh?

[she shrugs a shoulder, lips forming something close to a pout.]

Where is he?

[shooteverything]

Don't know.

[ he shrugs sharply, and brings the cigarette halfway to his mouth before changing his mind and ashing it on the wall behind him. he'd nicked it from badou before they split up and after their job, to give his hands something to do. ]

You probably wouldn't like him. [ heine doesn't even really like him, and they work together. ]

[allures]

You don't like him either.

[she sees it, notices it in his tone of voice. effy searches for her own cigarette pack - it's stuffed into her bra and she wastes no time in getting it out, unashamed. her lighter can't seem to be found, though.]

Got a light?

[shooteverything]

[ he shrugs again, not denying it. her movements catch his attention, but he only half-watches out of the corner of his eye.

rather than reply, he sticks his hands into his pockets and rummages around until he comes back up with a battered lighter. clicks it and holds it out for her, still looking away, and therefore not noticing the blood that's on the item and now on his hand. ]

[allures]

[she barely even gives his hand a second look. blood is normal. cook gets beaten up all the time; she's seen her fair share. she takes a few steps forward -- not too close -- and puts the cigarette to her lips, leaning in to catch the flame. once the cig is lit, she stands up straight again.]

[a beat]

Why are you here?

[shooteverything]

[ he returns the lighter to his pocket, wiping his hand off absently as he does.

why is he here? heine nearly shrugs again, and instead starts picking little bits of sand and grit out of the open skin on his knuckles, which is apparently a better option than talking to her face to face like a normal person. ]

Whatever you're doing out here.

[allures]

You sure?

[she keeps her eyes occupied away from heine's wounds, instead at his face. effy is unimpressed, to put it simply, with his vague and somewhat wrong answer.

she'll let him decide to tell her what he's really doing -- even if the answer is nothing -- as she looks towards a passerby drunkingly making his way down the street.]

[shooteverything]

Nothing, right?

[ he exhales and slumps back against the wall, following her gaze to look at the drunk guy stumbling towards them. ] Unless you're planning something.

[allures]

Hm. Not nothing.

[her head tilts as her eyes slide back towards heine, a small smirk tugging at her lips.]

And if I do?

[shooteverything]

Dunno.

[ he shrugs jerkily. ] I'm not your fucking chaperon.

[ which really means: go for it. ]

[allures]

[she laughs, pure and short, taking another drag of her cigarette.]

Funny.

[effy shrugs a shoulder and offers a small shake of the head. there's not much she can really do to add to the chaos she and her friends had started inside.]

Not worth it, though. Maybe later.

[shooteverything]

[ he thinks he probably isn't going to hang around long enough for her to cause any more trouble, but he looks at the time on his phone and changes his mind. it's too early to go back. ] Right. Looking forward to it.

[ said in a tone that's impressively flat, before he tacks on: ] I'm going inside.

[ it's almost certainly going to be uncomfortably hot and crowded inside the club, but he's kind of curious about what kind of shit that can be pulled off with a fire extinguisher, though he wouldn't admit it. ]

[allures]

[she didn't expect him to go back in, didn't expect he had any sort of interest in a place like that. but apparently he has enough, and she nods.]

Yeah.

[what he'll find inside is a mess. a mess of people, a mess of sweat, a mess of drugs. most of all, though, is the foam. it's in people's hair, it's on the walls, it's even made its way onto the dj, who doesn't seem to mind. the one-man security job is doing his best to find the culprit, the tiny brunette that seemed to disappear.

going back in wasn't smart, but it would be fun, and effy loved fun. so she follows him. her friends are probably gone by now and that didn't matter. this guy was interesting, so she stuck with him.]

[shooteverything]

[ well, that's certainly something. he can see the foam even in the flashing lights, and he glances back at her, maybe meaning to say something, but over her shoulder he catches sight of someone he recognizes and his expression goes flat. ]

[allures]

[her eyes, which were fixated on the lights and the dj, dart back to heine's once she notices something change about him. it's subtle and quick, but effy is good about picking things up like that, noticing what people don't notice about her.

she isn't alarmed, just curious, glancing over her shoulder to find the source of heine's problem.]

[ it's a person, a man maybe a couple of years older than both of them with long black hair, shaved on both sides of his head. he's caught sight of heine, too, and smiles widely at him, and then effy, mouthing some kind of greeting. ]

Fuck.

[ this is when heine also decides coming in here was a bad idea, and starts looking for an exit. but the back door is blocked off by the crowd, and the other guy starts walking towards them. ]

What-?

[her brows furrow when she meets the man's eyes, and something about him sends alarm signals to wrack at her brain. effy looks back at heine, expression a mix of confusion and astonishment: what the fuck did i get myself into?

but then she smiles easily, wondering just what will happen. cook already pissed off a gang, thomas showed him who was really the boss. just as she's about to ask what's happening, her friends push past her -- and heine, very clumsily shoving past him -- with a few shouts of sorry's.

effy follows them, giving one last glance to heine, before disappearing into the crowd to find another fire extinguisher. she'll be back, but she really doesn't want to get in the middle of two men fighting over something she doesn't understand. she'll be there when he needs her to be, she's clever like that.]

aw yeah

[ it's a good thing she's there, really, because heine is unable to avoid his decidedly not-welcome acquaintance. magato homes in on him and does his thing, which is namely being a douchebag.

it doesn't take long for them to come to blows, which is sort of difficult to do in such close quarters, but they manage. at least no one pulls a knife..! but a circle clears around them, and the lone security guy is at a loss because he wasn't ready for this. the way they fight is brutal, almost professional, and heine's bleeding again within minutes. ]

[allures]

[just as it's getting bad, effy is back, holding the fire extinguisher she found in a maintenance room. it didn't take her long to convince the one man in the room to let her have it. treachery is afoot, after all.

she's quick to aim, pointing the extinguisher towards both of them and squeezing the handle down.

now is not a time for a full-on brawl, no matter how much they hate each other. this is dangerous.]

[shooteverything]

[ heine doesn't see her coming, and neither does magato, so the sudden spray of fire extinguishing fluid is enough to break them up.

and now he realizes that getting into a fight in a crowded area was a bad idea, so, shaking foam out of his hair, he makes to slip away in the confusion. he only glances back to see if she's following or not. ]

[allures]

[she tosses the now empty extinguisher to the side, off towards magato in an attempt to scare him off. effy only follows out of one reason: curiosity.

once they are safely away from whatever creep decided to follow heine here -- she does one last glance behind her to make sure -- she decides to question him.

sort of.]

What the fuck?

[shooteverything]

[ magato, being magato, tries a wave, but they're already gone, and he has his own escape to make.

heine holds a hand to the side of his face to feel where there's a mark growing hot in its process of becoming a bruise, coughing and sniffing a little to try and do something about his bleeding nose. whatever calmness he'd managed to gather outside the club has turned into a jittery energy, and he snaps a reply — ] We have to go.

[ which isn't... actually an answer, but he's walking quickly, going to who-knows-where, even as he talks. ] Fuck. I didn't think...

[ he shakes his head, clearing away whatever he'd been thinking about saying. ] ...where the hell did you get that thing from?

[ he means the fire extinguisher, which is a better thing to talk about than the rest of the situation. he still has foam on him, too. ]
