My heart is fluttering just thinking about it. I love potassium.

[ she even flutters her eyelashes exaggeratedly. ]

That's the way to your heart, huh. Potassium.

[ Taking another sip of his drink, Zuko glances around. Where exactly are they going? Well, he still trusts Katara to lead the way. Plus she has the umbrella. ]

Potassium with a side of roses. Otherwise I'd be falling in love with everyone who serves me breakfast.

[ they'll be approaching one of the auditoriums on the campus. it's a smaller one, but it seems to be used mostly for shows. when they reach the building, katara will hold the door open for him. ]

Makes sense. Can't be falling for everyone who brings you a snack.

[ Ducking in from under the umbrella, Zuko pauses to hold the door for Katara in turn so she can close it and shake the rain off outside. ]

So... what's in here?

[ She said something about a surprise. ]

Apparently they're preparing for some kind of show here? I think they're charging for entry, but rehearsals are free.

[ ... if you sneak in.

she sounds pretty chipper about it. ]

It's not loud enough to really disrupt your studying either, especially if we're in the back.

The drama school is?

[ The fact that they're sneaking in isn't one Zuko realizes, right now, when they're going into the back of the auditorium and beginning to hear some music.

It's nice. Zuko follows Katara to wherever she chooses to sit, slowly taking his backpack off of his shoulders. ]

Do you know what show?

I'm not sure. One of my classmates is in it and was telling me about it. It sounds like some sort of hybrid between a concert and a play?

[ she sits, placing her drink down so she can properly stow away her umbrella. ]

it's pretty relaxing though.

It's kind of nice.

[ As he settles in, the music feels more relaxing once he's used to it. He takes out some of the worksheets he has to finish and starts working, looking up once in a while at the stage. ]

Which one of them is your classmate?

[seaclipsed]

[ she points to someone holding a violin near the back of the stage. ]

Her. She's pretty good, I think. [ not like katara is an expert on music, but she does enjoy praising the people she likes. ]

This sort of thing kind of makes me wish I'd get more involved with school activities.

[ like... she does, but more involved. katara's a busybody. ]

You already do a lot of things...

[ Zuko had to squint a bit to see who Katara was pointing at. He doesn't recognize her, but that's not much of a surprise; he doesn't know a lot of people. ]

Do you really want to do more?

[seaclipsed]

I don't know. Maybe...

[ she trails off, like she's thinking of something-- and then katara suddenly turns towards him. ]

We could do something together!

[brandedloyalty]

[ But they already do things together... why do more school activities together? Zuko doesn't voice that thought, at least not immediately, knowing Katara will probably fire back. ]

Like what? This?

[seaclipsed]

[ zuko you fuckin loser ]

Well... is there anything you've wanted to join but never got around to?

[brandedloyalty]

[ What did you expect from Zuko okay. ]

Uh, not really... [ Having interests that weren't something like debate club or student government wasn't very encouraged in the household of Ozai, and Zuko hasn't thought much on it on his own. ]

What about you?

[seaclipsed]

Hm... I like the idea of volunteering for something.

[ of course she would. ]

They do a lot of events here.

[brandedloyalty]

You already volunteer for things...

[ Like, a lot of things. Zuko can't handle nearly as much as Katara can in terms of responsibilities. ]

You mean you want to help the drama club?

[seaclipsed]

Oh! We should do that!

[ katara, he didn't mean "we" ]

[brandedloyalty]

[ UHHH. ]

Really? I mean, you really want to?

[seaclipsed]

[ katara only knows how to steamroll through everything. please stop her. ]

Sure. It could be fun, you know?

[brandedloyalty]

[ Zuko's not very good at expressing himself, but here goes..! ]

Maybe. But you already have so many things taking up time, are you sure it's a good idea to start something else?

[seaclipsed]

... huh. You think?

[ there's a pause as she considers this. some people have bad habits of charging into ideas without actually thinking them through too clearly, and those people are named katara. ]

[brandedloyalty]

Yeah! [ Uh. Wait, he'll try that again. ] If you just want to try new things, you don't have to take on a whole new responsibility or a whole new club...

[seaclipsed]

I...

[ hm. ]

I guess you're right? I got a little excited there.

[brandedloyalty]

Yeah, maybe a little. [ Zuko lets out a soft exhale of relief. ]

Not that that's a bad thing! It's good that you get excited by stuff.

[seaclipsed]

But it's not good when I try to drag you into joining the drama club?

[ she's teasing. ]
