[ detention in the bio classroom isn't as bad as it could be. at least there's stuff to look at. heine's gaze trails over the dusty blackboard, the sun coming in through the window, and the old raccoon specimen in a glass case on a high shelf. the sun isn't actually that appealing; he burns too easy to enjoy it.

so: staying inside and cleaning the classroom as punishment is an all right option, all things considered. heine picks up a rag with two fingers from the countertop to hold it under the tap, ready to get started and do a just-barely adequate job so that the teacher won't get on his ass.

there's supposed to be someone else coming in. he glances toward the doorway, checking to see if they've arrived yet. if they're unwelcome company, he can either intimidate them into cleaning by themselves or, worst case scenario, kick them out and just do it alone. ]

[Just the right amount of vengeance makes the pancakes taste better.

When the plate's pushed in front of him, Killua's practically drooling.] Ahhh, it smells good!

[He starts wolfing it down, looking very pleased.]

[ see? better than cereal. heine's posture relaxes, just a little, satisfied.

he finishes his own pancakes and takes a seat diagonally across from killua, because eye contact is scary, along with his plate and the rest of the bacon. ]

Don't eat like that, it's gross.

[ heine is judging. ]

[Killua stops to level Heine with a flat look, spots of syrup on his face and his cheeks full of pancakes and bacon.]

What's wrong with the way I eat?

[ heine sighs and grabs a napkin out of a stack, then smashes it against his face to scrub away some of the syrup. don't spit out your food bc he'll punch you. ]

[killectric]

Hey--ow! [Syrup doesn't just scrub off, it's sticky. So when Heine pulls the napkin back it just rips and sticks to his cheek.]

What was that for?!

[shooteverything]

[ HE TRIED. ]

You're disgusting.

[ it'd probably work better with some water, but he doesn't bother. ]

Go wash yourself at the sink or something.

[He is a child and he had a little syrup on his face!! Talk about harsh.

Talk about Killua not caring, either.] I'm eating! I'll wash my face after I'm done!

[shooteverything]

[ heine narrows his eyes intently at killua's filthy little face. ]

I'll dump water on you again.

[killectric]

[It's syrup you neat freak.]

Why?!

[shooteverything]

[ it's funny because he gets covered in blood half the time in canon. ]

You're like a little kid, making a mess while you eat.

I'm 13! [He's plenty young enough to not have to care about how neatly he eats!]

And it wasn't even a mess, stupid.

Don't call the guy who made you breakfast stupid.

[ an unspoken little squirt or something equally demeaning follows. heine stabs another pancake and drags it through a puddle of syrup. ]

[Killua pouts, but doesn't say anything as he realizes Heine has a point. He really is grateful, it's just that this guy gets on his nerves sometimes!

So he just changes the topic.] The school year's almost over...right? I haven't been going since I saw my big brothers snooping around by my classrooms last time.

[shooteverything]

Yeah. There's the rest of this week and the next week, school ends on Friday.

[ Heine finishes his bite before he talks again. ]

How many brothers do you have?

[killectric]

[Killua lets out a long sigh. Just two more weeks...but he was going to fail the school year if he didn't find a way to make it to exams. Maybe his brothers would give up looking at school by then?]

Three. And one sister.

So are they all looking for you?

[killectric]

Just Milluki and Illumi, I think, and mostly just Illumi. He's the one I saw at the mall. He's always been overbearing...

[shooteverything]

So if he's busy you could get to school and get your tests done, right?

[ heine's done with his own exams, being a senior, so he's more or less writing school off until fall comes around again. ]

[killectric]

Yeah, pretty much. [Killua arches a brow.] Don't tell me you have an idea.

[shooteverything]

No. I don't know anything about your brother...s.

[ a shrug, and he eats more bacon. ]

You got any ideas?

They could get into an accident.

[Wow, brutal.]

Nothing serious! You know, just enough to delay them for a day.

Yeah, like a fender bender! Just something to tie them up.

[Killua's smiling, because this is obviously a Great Idea.]
