[ detention in the bio classroom isn't as bad as it could be. at least there's stuff to look at. heine's gaze trails over the dusty blackboard, the sun coming in through the window, and the old raccoon specimen in a glass case on a high shelf. the sun isn't actually that appealing; he burns too easy to enjoy it.

so: staying inside and cleaning the classroom as punishment is an all right option, all things considered. heine picks up a rag with two fingers from the countertop to hold it under the tap, ready to get started and do a just-barely adequate job so that the teacher won't get on his ass.

there's supposed to be someone else coming in. he glances toward the doorway, checking to see if they've arrived yet. if they're unwelcome company, he can either intimidate them into cleaning by themselves or, worst case scenario, kick them out and just do it alone. ]

[Killua huffs, sitting up with his legs crossed and his hands braced on his knees.]

Where am I supposed to sleep?!

The couch. Or here. I don't— [ YAWN. ] —care, now shut up and be quiet.

Grrh... Fine! [Killua reluctantly pulls himself back into bed, grumbling as he does. He crawls over to Heine, grabbing the blanket and tugging it back to give himself enough to scoot underneath.

It puts them brings them uncomfortably close together, but like hell he's going to give up his blanket when he was here first.]

[ look, the couch was an option, okay? heine really just wants to sleep.

even if killua is too close to him. heine stubbornly keeps his eyes closed when he feels a tug on the blanket, but it does annoy him. he's cold too, dammit... but in an attempt to be the Bigger Man or Whatever, he doesn't pull back on it.

until he's almost asleep, which is when he swings a leg over the obstacle he fuzzily recognizes and tries to worm under the blanket more. ]

H-hey! [Killua pips up with a squeak, suddenly trapped under Heine's leg. Just when he'd finally started to doze off too--he's beginning to think he should have just taken the couch.]

Get your stupid leg off of me! [Chomp. A toothy bite right at his shin.]

[shooteverything]

[ KID WHAT THE FUCK. heine automatically kicks at the pain, grunting in his half-awake state. ]

Sssstop it, dog...

[ yeah, he totally thinks killua is a pet he used to have. ]

[killectric]

Pph! [Killua spits his leg out and hops out of bed again, storming out of the room. Fine! He'll sleep on the couch!

And come morning, he's half hanging off it in his boxer shorts, all twisted up in the blankets Heine had left there for himself.]

[ come morning, heine's awake at an earlier time than usual. already not a morning person, the earlier hours make him stagger on his way out of his bedroom and into the living room-dining room area.

killua... on the couch. he squints. ]

Don't fall off. Idiot.

[ he's charming, really. ]

[killectric]

[Bleary eyed and half-asleep, Killua mumbles.] Don't what--

Wuuwaahh! [He flails, slipping off the couch and hitting the floor with a solid thud.] Ow!

[shooteverything]

...idiot.

[ worst senpai 2k15. ]

I'm making breakfast.

[ that's his way of saying "don't eat any cereal", because breakfast is one of the few things heine actually can cook well. ]

[killectric]

[What if he wanted cereal.

Any complaining Killua had definitely been about to do is immediately pushed aside in favour of his peaked curiosity.]

Whatcha makin'?

[ well... too bad. ]

You'll see in fifteen minutes.

[ heine's still awfully rest-deprived and grumpy about it, but only marginally more than usual. he bangs some cupboards, but that's the extent of his venting. in moody silence, he mixes pancake batter from powder with a pack of bacon resting on the countertop. ]

... [Definitely curious now. Fifteen minutes sounded like pancakes. Or maybe bacon and eggs--

Either way, Killua was following after by his nose, slipping into a seat at the table and looking hungrier by the second.]

[shooteverything]

[ pancakes!! heine flips them with a vengeance, but not too much of a vengeance; he doesn't want to break them.

he plates up some and slides them to killua with some pieces of bacon dropped haphazardly on top. eat up, kiddo. heine's doing something nice for once. ]

[killectric]

[Just the right amount of vengeance makes the pancakes taste better.

When the plate's pushed in front of him, Killua's practically drooling.] Ahhh, it smells good!

[He starts wolfing it down, looking very pleased.]

[shooteverything]

[ see? better than cereal. heine's posture relaxes, just a little, satisfied.

he finishes his own pancakes and takes a seat diagonally across from killua, because eye contact is scary, along with his plate and the rest of the bacon. ]

Don't eat like that, it's gross.

[ heine is judging. ]

[killectric]

[Killua stops to level Heine with a flat look, spots of syrup on his face and his cheeks full of pancakes and bacon.]

What's wrong with the way I eat?

[ heine sighs and grabs a napkin out of a stack, then smashes it against his face to scrub away some of the syrup. don't spit out your food bc he'll punch you. ]

[killectric]

Hey--ow! [Syrup doesn't just scrub off, it's sticky. So when Heine pulls the napkin back it just rips and sticks to his cheek.]

What was that for?!

[shooteverything]

[ HE TRIED. ]

You're disgusting.

[ it'd probably work better with some water, but he doesn't bother. ]

Go wash yourself at the sink or something.

[killectric]

[He is a child and he had a little syrup on his face!! Talk about harsh.

Talk about Killua not caring, either.] I'm eating! I'll wash my face after I'm done!

[shooteverything]

[ heine narrows his eyes intently at killua's filthy little face. ]

I'll dump water on you again.

[killectric]

[It's syrup you neat freak.]

Why?!

[shooteverything]

[ it's funny because he gets covered in blood half the time in canon. ]

You're like a little kid, making a mess while you eat.

[killectric]

I'm 13! [He's plenty young enough to not have to care about how neatly he eats!]

And it wasn't even a mess, stupid.
