[part of being one of the newer guys when they're moving is being the one who's going to go around and say hello to the fellow business owners. Jakob is busy with last preparations, meaning Fee's free to go play at PR until he's called back. really, Fee thinks that Jakob needs time - the old place had been special, and this new place needs space to get accustomed to.

the flower shop has been a place he hasn't stepped in yet, but today he wants to change that. entering, he's amazed - it's beautiful, he thinks. someone could get all wrapped up in looking at every flower in here.]

[ The flower shop is as much home to him as his apartment upstairs, and the smells of flowers, greenery, and fertilizer are comforting. This morning, he's in the process of moving stock from the back room to the front. It's early enough that he doesn't expect many customers.

But to his slight dismay his expectations are wrong. Heine puts down the bucket of hydrangeas next to the checkout counter and wipes his palms on his apron before shoving them into his pockets so he doesn't have to shake any hands.

Finally, he takes a step out from behind the rack of flowers he'd been working on and locks eyes with the stranger for a second before slightly averting his gaze. ]

( there's that itch at the back of heine's head, isn't there? that itch that just demands to be scratched--right there, at the base of his skull. aching and wanting and pulsing with every thumpthump of his small, shattered heart. it must be uncomfortable, right? good. that's how it's supposed to be. the ache is still there, of course; the razor sharp pain pulsating under his skin, the bolts digging deep into flesh and bone, gripping into him tight as if there's no other place they would rather be--because there isn't.

outside this broken, scrawny body, where else would he exist? that itch only worsens no matter what steps heine takes to get rid of it, up and down his spine, as if it's toying with him. trying to piss him off. trying to get those tiny, few hairs he calls eyebrows to twitch in irritation, as they do. tries to get that raise out of him.

he waits, until he's sure it's the perfect moment. the best time--and pulls heine in. under the dark shroud of consciousness, into his own fucking head, because sometimes, he gets bored. sometimes, he really wants to play.

heine just happens to be the best toy available to him, as it stands. thin fingers with blunt nails reach around him, dig into his shoulders, scratch lines across his chest, dig in deep enough to break skin as he leans in, whispers into his ear in heine's own voice: )

[ Haven is one of the few places on Earth that Rook finds himself gravitating towards when he finds himself not wanting to be alone but not really wanting company. Usually, he would try for museums, libraries in big cities, but sometimes-- sometimes you needed a club that accepted all kinds and asked no questions. Places where his eyes flaring gold-bright with the pulses of lust and want, aren't questioned or looked at beyond an appreciative glance.

Places where Rook could drape along bar tops or in booth seating in his usual absurd attire and not worry about being mistaken for a stripper.

Well, no, he was still mistaken for that but it was easier to deal with in Haven.

There was a thrum in his bones, an itch under his skin, that made him feel restless and on edge with no real understanding as to why. This is why the demon has made his way to the familiar place, has him making his way to the bar before draping himself in a chair to rest against the bar top, eyes turned to the bartender pleadingly.
